Mark-Andr Leclerc drives alone, far from the spotlight. On distant alpine faces, the 23-year-old Free Canadian achieves some of the most daring solo climbs in history. However, it attracts little attention. Leclerc’s approach – the absence of cameras, ropes and fields for mistakes – is at the heart of a solo adventure. Nomadic and shy in public, he does not own a phone or car and does not want the film crew to share his clear vision of climbing. Director Peter Mortimer is going to make a movie about Leclerc, but is trying to follow his elusive theme.
